Continuing my work on assignment in Chanhassen, My second day focused on the historic St. Hubert’s Church and cemetery. Constructed in 1887, the steeple is an icon in the skyline, and one of the oldest buildings in the city.
The plaza in front of the church also houses the historic schoolhouse.
I started work on an assignment today, to photograph landmarks around Chanhassen to decorate the halls of our office. It’ll take some time to put it all together, but here’s a shot from the first day out.
This is a photo of part of the sign for City Center Park, showing the maple leaf: the symbol of Chanhassen (my home town). I used Aperture to apply exposure adjustments, do some vintage coloring with curves, as well as some vignetting and blur.

Sometimes, an unconscious thought becomes the seed for an action that will change a life. I had a bad cold; it was my third day home sick, and I was starting to loose my mind. I had a fever dream the night before, where I was in my childhood bedroom and it was filled with aquariums and cages for birds, rodents, lizards, even cats and dogs. Growing up, I kept fish in bowls successfully, but had always admired more ambitious tanks.
